MashUp on Thursday, August 31, from 4-5:30, Albertson Library, Boise State University. There will be a cash bar with the first drink ticket free (which is why the event is 21+). MashUps are fun, fast-paced events featuring two short talks on "odd topics" that seemingly have nothing to do with one another. Then the audience has time to ask questions that connect the two topics. Our speakers for this second in the series include Karen Wadley, Latin instructor in World Languages, talking about her experiences growing up in a family that participated in reenactments of fur-trapping rendezvous, and fat activist and social media influencer Amy Pence-Brown talking about the impacts of social media "shadow banning" on social activism.
